It’s really much more interesting and educational when you see physics in action, right? Well, this website over delivers on real life physics! Diy Potato Cannons sells instant download plans that teach you how to fire potatoes out of a homemade potato cannon – you may have heard it called a potato gun or possibly a potato launcher. Seriously, this potato cannon is the real deal. The cannon can be constructed out of ordinary items from your local hardware store or home improvement superstore. It’s a creative use of PVC pipes, that’s for sure, and you honestly have to be very careful because it fires the potato with much, much more forces than you would expect. I think the potato ends up firing well over 200 yards! Of course, similar to a catapult, the site also has information on trebuchets! History buffs who like to build scale models of historic catapults in addition to science or physics classes looking to build the collest experiment alike will find the site useful.
